Christmas, New Years and More

Here's a few pics with some of Brinlee's new adventures.
Just before Christmas we went to Zoo Lights at the Point Defiane Zoo in Tacoma. Brinlee loved looking at all the lights and had a great time looking for all the fish in the aquarium.

Just a few days before Christmas we went to Long Beach with Joseph's Family.  It was really windy and cold, but still fun to play on the beach.

Joseph did what all boys do...dig!

Maybe not all boys, Tim made sure that everyone knew he was there.

Here's my only pic worth posting from New Years Eve.  My battery died before I could really get any good pics.  Thanks to whoever took this one for me! (Daniel - pick or scratch?!)

Happy New Years!  Looks like Brinlee has learned a few things from Aunt Sydney...like how to eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with your entire face.  Aunt Sydney loved PB&J sandwiches when she was little and afterwards there was always jelly on her forehead and in her eyebrows.  We never knew how it got there.  Now I find myself wondering the same thing with Brinlee.

This past Friday Brinlee and I went to Point Defiance Zoo with her cousins.  It was a pretty icky day outside so the zoo was empty. (Literally, there were only 15 cars there) We had a great time though.  We found the peacock wandering.  it almost blends into the background here. It's amazing to see these animals up close.

Brinlee enjoyed the fish once again!
Man those walruses are HUGE!!! This small picture doesn't do justice to the size of this animal.  And he wasn't the biggest one in the tank.  He was just admiring us as we ate our lunch.

Brinlee wansn't so sure she enjoyed all the rain.

For Christmas Grandma Jo made Brinlee her very own hooded towel.  Just in time too, she's grown out of her little ones.  She loved being all wrapped up in it today.  I'll have to get a good picture of the towel since it turned out so cute!  It has her name on it in blue and on the hood is a cute punk ladybug.

Lunch Time

Brinlee loves to feed herself lately.  It's great with crackers and fruit and things she can get to her mouth.  But whenever it gets to small to stick out of her fist she'll just open and close her hand and try to figure out how to get the food into her mouth.  So far her favorite thing to eat is apples.

Today for lunch we had some spaghetti which she loved, if you can't tell by how much is all over her. After she was done I let her chew on a graham cracker for a little bit while I ate and did some things on the computer.  That's when I learned how talented she is.

Not only can she jump while she sleeps, but she can eat also! Just in time for Christmas feasts.

We Have A...

CRAWLER!!!

Brinlee May is 7 Months 1 week and 4 days old.

She's been trying to for a little while now, but last night she just turned around and went for it.  She was sitting playing with some toys and behind her was a little thing of kleenex.  I don't know what made it so appealing (since she hates having her nose wiped), but she turned around got on her hands and knees and took off! She's been like this all this morning.  She'll just be sitting and playing with a toy or book or something and then she'll see something else and just go for it.  I guess I better start getting everything off the floor.

A Growing Girl

Here's some updated information on Brinlee along with some pics!  (I'm going to put some time into this blogging thing one day and learn how to put several in the same square, or do a slide show, but until then sorry they are posted one by one.)

Brinlee on the way back to Idaho
It's so hard to be strapped into a carseat for 12+ hours, so just a few times for a few minutes we would let her stand up and stretch.  She loved facing forward and seeing what was going on.  Brinlee wants a big girl car seat for Christmas! ( I love her blue eyes in this one)

Babysitting Elsie
Kendal brought over Elsie today while she had to do some things and we had so much fun!  Well, Brinlee and I did.  Elsie slept the whole time.  Brinlee sat like this for 10-15 minutes just waiting for Elsie to wake up.  Just as she'd get bored and look around Elsie would grunt or make some noise and Brinlee would sit a little longer.

Brinlee's Bed Head
I don't know how a kid with hardly any hair can get bed head, but I was cracking up the other day when I went to get her out of bed and her hair was everywhere!

Brinlee had her 6 month check-up over the Thanksgiving break.  I know she's actually seven months, but here's her stats:
Weight: 20 lbs.
Heights: 27 1/4 inches.
She's in the 90th percentile group in weight, height, and head circumference (although I never remember what it actually measures.)
The doctor asked about her foods and said since she looks to be doing really well, go ahead and be a little more adventurous with what we feed her.  Here's one of my attempts:

She has gotten her two bottom teeth in so she's using them to dig into the orange.  It took her a few minutes to realize that all the good stuff was in the middle so she started by just licking it for a few minutes which was hilarious.  Once she got the teeth thing figured out though, that orange was toast. I tried to get a good picture of the orange once she had finished but I couldn't get one to turn out.
